Manufacturing of Custom Paper Placemats
Our kraft paper placemats are handcrafted in America. We have an in-house production plant in the United States. Let’s take a quick look at our production process using IS0 9001 Quality Control Standards.
- The first step in production is to source wood from FSC certified sources.
- Wood is broken into small pieces and combined with chemicals to produce cellulose fibers. The cellulose fibers are then cleaned to eliminate chemicals and contaminants. This improves the strength of the paper. Next, we pass them through hot rollers to dry the water and make rolls.
- If our client prefers a different color for their paper placemats than brown, we bleach them. Then we add a food-safe wax coating to the paper, leaving the opposite side untreated. The wax coating is used to prevent food seepage.
- After the coating is complete, the rolls are printed with your final design. The rolls are then cut into sheets according to the measurements you supply using our die-cutting machinery to ensure neat edges.
- Each placemat is thoroughly checked by our quality assurance staff before being packed in protective boxes.
